Gender Pay Gap Report
Scribbler was established in 1981 by John and Jennie Procter, who are still heavily involved in the day to day running of the business. Equality and fairness are some of the key attributes that sum up Scribbler.
Known for our rather outlandish, tongue-in-cheek humour, we take closing the gender pay gap seriously. We are in a privileged position to have both a female and male managing director which sets a great example to aspiring young entrepreneurs.
There is a higher representation of women in the business both in the shops and our head office and we are working hard to be more balanced in the workplace.
We know the importance of empowering every single member of staff to blossom into the superstars that they are. OK, that’s a pretty embroidered description, but the point here is - we thrive on the creativity of our staff - we’re proud of our workforce and try to develop careers left, right and centre. We currently have 178 members of staff working in stores across the country and 25 in our head office.
It is our policy to have equal pay for every role regardless of gender. Women comprise 75% of our workforce currently. Pay and bonus opportunities are available equally.
The gender pay gap in this report is largely influenced by a higher proportion of men occupying senior positions, compared to women.
We continue to recruit and promote equally for all management and Head Office opportunities within the group.
