What to do on a bank holiday weekend!

What to do on a bank holiday weekend!

Published date:

The amount of pressure to make sure you do Bank Holiday right and make the most of it is monumental

Do you take advantage of the extra couple of days off by being an absolute rotter in bed with movies and snacks? Meet with friends and pray for incredible weather? Do some DIY? Indulge in your hobbies and passions?

Stop stressin’, because Scribbler is here to hold your hand through the most exciting long weekend of the year with some suggestions of what we’ll be up to.

We’ll probs end up rotting, but the thought is there at least.

Fun with Friends

If the weather is good, get the BBQ out and play some games with your fave people. That could be four whole days of smoky (maybe burnt) food eaten al fresco, cold drinks and a bit of chaos.

Gather your herd for a game of Herd Mentality or fully disturb the neighbours by playing Grab the Mic and belting out the lyrics to some bangers.

If the weather’s shit? Bring it inside for a rousing round of Dobble. Oh, and it’s Bank Hols, so obviously don’t forget the Drinking Games. Duh.

Get Crafty

You’re always saying ‘I need a new hobby’ or ‘I need to fucking stop scrolling on TikTok for seven hours every day’. Now’s your chance.

Coz you know what arts and crafts goes well with? BOOZE. Get out the kitty stickers and sticky notes and start an artsy scrapbook, or blind draw your partner/bestie in a lovely notebook while having a little sip of something good.

Not very talented in the arts department? That’s ok, grab some pens and let a cute colouring book do most of the work for you. You’ve just gotta stay in the lines.

Kill it in the Kitchen

Chicken nuggets are delish but you need to stop having them for every meal and actually cook something good.

Get in the kitchen for bank hols and fire up the air fryer, whip up a Sunday lunch and get culinarily creative. Don’t forget to use a timer so you don’t f*ck it up again.

Feeling a bit bakey? Whip up this incredible brownies recipe using our Tony’s Chocolonely bars. Then sit on the sofa and scoff them all. Maybe get some jelly beans too, just as a palette cleanser. Yum.

Or, do bugger all

You probably need a reset, a recharge, a relax, alllllll the R’s.

There are three things that help us escape the chaos of life - reading a happy book, switching off our brains, and going to bed before 9pm

So grab yourself a tea served up by a friendly sloth, get under the covers and get emotionally attached to some fictional hunks and princesses.

And if that doesn’t work? Squeeze the ever-loving shit out of this cat.
