Unacceptable since the 80s

Arriving on the Great British High Street in 1981 (yes, we’re old, get over it), Scribbler was manifested by John and Jennie Procter, who decided the UK (no, the world!) deserved better greeting cards. Not just better—bolder, brasher, and unapologetically hilarious. Thus, Scribbler was born, on a mission to rebel against boring cards and get you to instead send something with a butt load more personality and humour!

Fast forward to today, and we've got 38 stores across the UK, as well as a growing website, each packed with cards that make you laugh, gasp, and maybe even blush. We’ve lived through 9 World Cups, a Queen (RIP your maj) a global pandemic, a few Royal Mail strikes and Boris Johnson’s idiocy, and we’re still kicking. Somehow. 

We pride ourselves on being a hub of creativity - harnessing the brainpower of our endlessly talented, in-house designers who spend hours honing crafty cards and witty designs (okay sure a lot of those hours are spent down the pub saying something funny and going “wait… is that a card?!” As well as collaborating with hundreds of incredible independent designers — think of them as the rebels of the stationery world — to bring you cards that are as unique as your sense of humour. Whether it's a pun that makes you groan or a joke that toes the line, we've got it.

• Plastic-Free Packaging: We've ditched the cellophane. Our cards come butt naked!! (a.k.a. packaging-free)

• Made in the UK: We print all our own brand everyday cards right here in the UK, supporting local businesses and reducing our carbon footprint.

Our Partnership with CoppaFeel!

Since 2019, we've been proud partners with CoppaFeel!, the UK's only youth-focused breast cancer awareness charity. Together, we've raised over £100,000 (and counting!) to support their mission of promoting early detection through regular chest checks.

Our team doesn't just talk the talk; we walk the walk (and sometimes run or hike). From staff members getting boob themed tattoos - yes this really happened! - to running 100 miles and even trekking the Himalayas, we've gone the extra mile—literally—to support this vital cause!
