Much like millennials and avocado toast, greeting cards and charity have a long history of going together pretty well. By now, you may have noticed that we've been happily wifed up when it comes to charity partnerships - with none other than the wonderful CoppaFeel!.
We could gush endlessly about how brilliant they are and how thrilled we are to be working with them once again but as we take a look back at the last year of fundraising efforts, we thought we'd turn the microphone over to CoppaFeel! to get a better idea of how your generous donations are actually making a difference. CoppaFeel! is thrilled to have been supported by the lovely lot over at Scribbler, and this year has been a year like no other, raising over £8,000 for the charity.
Scribbler got in touch with CoppaFeel! back in 2020 with an idea. Nearly two years, three campaigns and countless cards later, Scribbler has been supporting the charity in spreading its message of the importance of getting to know yourself and checking regularly.
CoppaFeel! was founded in 2009 by Kristin Hallenga and her twin sister Maren after Kris was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer at the age of 23. After finding a lump at 22, and eventually visiting her doctor 3 times, Kris was told the news that she had incurable breast cancer. Kris was unaware that breast cancer could affect people in their twenties and knew very little about the disease. It struck her that there was very little information out there for young people, educating them about the disease, how they could be looking after themselves and informing them that breast cancer doesn’t just affect women over 50. And so, the idea for CoppaFeel! was born.
CoppaFeel! want to speak to young people about boobs, pecs and chests in their natural habitat and affect real behaviour change. They talk about a serious message in a light hearted, proactive and empowering way, and encourage guys, gals and non binary pals to check regularly to get to know what is normal for them.
The partnership between CoppaFeel! and Scribbler just makes sense. Like Scribber, CoppaFeel! isn't shy of a cheeky pun, and our shared love of light-hearted humour with heart behind it means that we’re a perfect match. CoppaFeel! champion checking your chest all year round, and thanks to Scribbler's seasonal campaigns, we spread the charity's life-saving message and copious amounts of boob love to Scribbler customers at various points throughout the year.
Scribbler sells a range of exclusive cards in store and online, with a percentage of the sale price coming to CoppaFeel!. That means that not only will your purchase remind you and the recipient of your card of the importance of checking your chest, but it will also go towards supporting the charity’s awareness and education work.
This year, Scribbler truly took their support to new heights; by selling a fab-boob-ulous range of cards and gifts that were all themed around boobs, chests and pecs. All the stores got on board, displaying the products with pride, putting up eye-catching window displays and taking part in inspiring feats of fundraising. We’re talking exciting raffles, interactive games and even one Scribbler colleague who got the iconic ‘You’re the tits’ design tattooed on his ankle (we were obsessed.)
Brand partners like Scribbler are so important when it comes to CoppaFeel!’s mission; to give everyone the best possible chance of surviving breast cancer, as they help us reach so many more people with our life saving message and enable us continue creating life saving resources, running innovative campaigns and inventing sparkly new and supportive checking tools.
