Epic Mothers Day Songs

The Scribbler.com team were looking over our range of mothers day cards earlier, in preparation for the frenetic orgy of card buying that our personalised cards website will doubtless undergo in the second week of March, and I found myself wondering what the most poignant song would be to really represent Mothering Sunday.

As usual I decided to conduct some ad hoc market research around the office and with strangers who crossed my path during the day, and asked everyone to think of one song that summed up how they felt about their good old mum.

The usual suspects were suggested, but I wanted something special, a song of epic proportions that would blow everyone else’s run of the mill musical choices clean out of the water.

And that’s when it hit me.

There could only be one mothers day song.

And that song is Treat Your Mother Right by Laurence Tureaud AKA Mister T, that featured on his 1984 motivational video Be Somebody or Be Somebody’s Fool.

Watch it and weep, and if you can find something better I will be tempted to shower you with free personalised cards.
